This site is devoted to a delightful summer home in Mystic, Connecticut.  The property offers waterfront access, a large  yard, private beaches, a large deck and dock, a large gas grill. three bedrooms (house sleeps 8 comfortably), bedroom skylights, a large living/dining area, cable TV (HD-DVR) with HBO, flat panel TV's, Satellite radio (SIRIUS), Broadband internet (direct and/or wireless), new mattresses and box-springs on all beds, indoor and outdoor showers, a woodstove (new!) with plenty of firewood on sitse, three kayaks, one sunfish, direct ocean access, two mountain bikes and a magnificent view of the ocean 24/7! Picture (shown above) was taken on Saturday, December 26th, 2009.  Latimer Point is wonderfully quiet place during the winter months with only a handful of residence sticking around all year. The BIG project for 2010 (late March / early April) is the renovation of the existing septic system, which is long overdue!    A new tank (1,250 gallon capacity) and 90 foot trench (the leaching field) is currently in the works.  The permit process is complete, FINALLY!  We are 'officially' approved to proceed, after two and a half years of negotiations with the D.E.P. and State of Connecticut.  With a bit of luck,  the septic renovation will be complete by the start of the 2010 season (May, 2010); major house renovations to follow.  Architectural drawings and mock-ups will be made available (online) shortly. Austin recently added an extension at the bottom of the ramp.  The ramp is now straight AND
 the floats sit level in the water, which was not an easy task!

The cottage will soon be equipped with high-speed (wireless) internet service.

Kayaks and Sunfish are not included in the rental agreement (unless special release is signed).
Please plan to bring your own equipment and use it at your own risk (god love lawyers!)
 
The cottage is available on weekends in the Spring and Fall (3 or 4 day rental).  The rate is $600 (4 day weekend / arrive Friday anytime and depart Monday anytime) or $500 (3 day weekend, arrive Friday anytime and depart Sunday anytime).  The cottage is available on a weekly basis for $2000 per week (during peak summer months) or $1700 per week (before Memorial Day or after Labor Day).

or one and a half hours from Boston (Rt. 95 South / Exit 90).  Click here for detailed directions.

There is an Amtrak station in the center of town (Mystic Station / MYS);
the station is only five minutes from the cottage.

The current size of the cottage is 1,150 square feet (soon to be expanded to 3,200+ sq. ft).  The current deck is 30' x 18' with a large picnic table and lots of additional seating plus three very comfortable wooden loungers.  Expansion plans include: 2000+ additional square feet, two additional full baths, one additional bedroom, lots of additional windows, a covered (upper level) deck, updated and expanded kitchen and semi-detached art studio.  Stay tuned to this site for pictures of the renovation in progress!

   Extras and things to do in the area:

1.  A private beach, complete with large play area, swings, basketball court, private boat launch and ramp.  Mystic Aquarium, Historic Seaport Village, movie theaters, casinos  (Foxwood Casino and Mohegan Sun), boating ( 3 kayaks, 1 sunfish are included in cottage rental provided a release is signed), claiming, hammocks in the front yard (very private!), outdoor and indoor showers, a large wood deck, dock, biking, large windows and skylights, barbeque, lobster and claim dinners on the deck with direct access to the ocean, plus a variety of great restaurants including a family favorite Sea Swirl.
